Visiting Downtown Northampton

by Bill Dusty

AN ALLIANCE IS FORGED

On June 14, 2008, I drove up to Northampton, MA, from my Springfield home to meet up with a small group of Valley bloggers to discuss a plan to better promote our efforts by pooling our resources and talents. This would be our second meeting – our first being a Top Secret affair where vague ideas were tossed around, discarded, or put on a “to-do” list.

At this second meeting we finalized our initial plan: The creation of a Central website that will act as a “gateway” to our individual sites. We also discussed additional details while planning our next steps towards providing a more organized means for folks to access local stories online.

More details will be forthcoming by the end of this month.

While up in Northampton, I took the opportunity to show the place around to my girlfriend, who had never visited the little city before. I also snapped a few photos and put together a short, 3-minute video for the rest of you folks. See the photos below, with the video at the bottom of this post.

After our tour, we settled in at the Northampton Brewery Bar & Grille for a nice refreshing ale.
