cutler011.jpgRon Cutler, a 15-year employee with DHL and a 19-year member of the Teamsters Union, is seeking a spot on the East Longmeadow Board of Selectmen. Cutler hosted a campaign event at Denardo’s Restaurant for his family, friends, and supporters this past Sunday. This will be Cutler’s second run for office, having run for the State Senate two years ago.

Cutler, 41, is married with two children, and has been a resident of East Longmeadow for thirteen years. According to an election brochure, Cutler is a member of the Knights of Columbus council 9960, cutler03.jpg and is a lector at St. Michael’s Church, where his family regularly attends services. He is also the boys 7th and 8th grade Christian Youth Organization basketball coach, as well as coach of a 3rd and 4th grade girls town basketball team.

According to the town’s website, the East Longmeadow Board of Selectmen oversees the budgets of the town’s police, fire and building departments, and is the “main policy making body” of the town government. The Board of Selectmen also serves as the town’s Board of Health. The Board conducts meetings on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. Each selectmen’s term is for three years.
