Holyoke Councilor Blogs

Holyoke Councilor-at-Large Kevin Jourdain recently started up a blog to cover his activities on the Holyoke City Council. Called “Holyoke First,” it might be more realistically named “Holyoke 50%, Me 50%” since it’s mostly a “Rah! Rah!” website filled with the Good News of Kevin Jourdain. But what’s wrong with that? Jourdain makes it clear to any visitor that this is his blog (his name and photo are prominently featured). The blog itself reads like a series of press releases and other notes, plus some information on Holyoke.

It’s a great idea, actually – and one that I’m surprised more office holders haven’t taken advantage of. Blogs are much easier to update than traditional websites, and Jourdain uses Blogger’s free server-side software, which folks not familiar with website design and HTML coding often turn to as an alternative.

It should be interesting to see how long Jourdain keeps up his blogging – and how many other local politicians pick up on his idea. ~

    Hi, Kevin!!

You look pretty super with your American flag pin.
It’s great to see that type of pride in these times we live in. Not every body seems to care so much. Thanks for showin’ that you care. Are you gonna run for the mayor of Holyoke sometime?? That’s the buzz..

    Dear Kevin:

You do take your position seriously and I commend you for this site. Great! Keep up the great communication pathway. Holyoke needs leaders as yourself. Great pathway!

    Regards, Carl Hartig
