“Safe Neighborhood Night” Coming to Springfield

by Bill Dusty

SNN “Safe Neighborhood Night” will be coming to Springfield on Tuesday evening, October 20, at Western New England College’s Rivers Memorial Building, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

Representatives from local law enforcement, including Springfield Police Commissioner William Fitchet and Hampden County Sheriff Mike Ashe Jr., will be on hand to offer tips and advice on how to combat crime in your neighborhood.

Information will also be available on the new “Text-A-Tip” hotline, a program which is already in place in other cities across America. The hotline is anonymous and offers yet another way for neighbors to report crimes to police.

Refreshment and door prizes will be offered at the event. For more information, visit the SPD Web site here.
