Graffiti Follows Obama Victory

It didn’t take long for at least one local resident in the South End of Springfield to show off his support for President-elect Barack Obama…
These displays of admiration for the next President of the United States were found on Main Street at the corner of Adams Street, just a couple of days following the Presidential election.
It’s sad that some folks just don’t get it. The election, for those who voted for Obama, was about change and hope, not ghetto pride. This kind of self-destructive behavior has plagued the poorer communities of Springfield for far too long, and it’s unfortunate that such an uplifting event for the minority community – the election of America’s first black president – is celebrated by such abusive displays.

How sad, to take such a historic moment and turn it into a reason to vandalize. I doubt that Obama would approve.
