MATTUNES HOUSE CONCERTS:
While visiting the Mattoon Street Arts Festival this past month, I stopped by the home of Maggie and Greg Tucker. The couple have a unique gig going on each year: In-home concerts, which they host right from their living room. The periodic events include refreshments (non-alcoholic) and a vegetarian meal.
Upcoming events are:
* Sunday, October 19 – Scott Sanchez, a classical guitarist playing “Bach to Brubeck with lots in between.” Check out Sanchez’s website here.
* Sunday, November 16 – Russian Duo, a husband and wife team playing traditional Russian instruments. Check out their website here.
For more information on what the concerts are all about, check out the “Mattunes House Concerts” website.
PIONEER VALLEY CENTRAL:
“Pioneer Valley Central” is a local collaborative blog that has been operating since this past summer. It’s members include some of the best known bloggers in the Valley (including the Intruder). The site is sprinkled with posts that members contribute from their own blogs, and there is also original content available. It’s still very much a work in progress, and we’ve all been struggling to get things going in between our busy summer schedules. Stop by the site, check out its content, and visit again as often as you can. Us starving bloggers would appreciate it.

Thank you for the nice notice of our concerts. We enjoy doing them for the community and the musicians. We make NO money from it. In fact, we usually lose money. It is our expensive hobby.
