Coming to Westfield State College this Saturday, February 6, 2010, will be the 2010 rendition of PodCamp WesternMass. Running from 9:00am to 5:00pm, the event should be loaded with lots of information for bloggers, podcasters, and social media nuts alike. And it’s not just for Internet junkies, either: Companies looking for ways to enhance their footprint in the “New Media Age” should require one or two of their employees to work on Saturday to attend this event, too.
From the event summary:
PodCamp is an ad-hoc gathering (or un-conference) born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions and interaction from attendees. Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join. Attendance will be a nominal charge of $20 ($5 for students), but all are expected to participate and/or present. You can participate by giving a presentation, demo, or joining into another cooperative event, being on a panel/roundtable, or in other ways helping out on event day.
PodCamp is NOT just about podcasting, but about all social media/networking, and its relevance and usefulness to community, business and otherwise. This PodCamp is all about blogging, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, podcasting, videocasting/YouTube, and any other online community tools.
